In the last few weeks the Democrats and Republicans have held their national Conventions, which means the countdown to Election Day and one of the most important elections of our lifetime has truly begun!
There are less than two months left until Election Day so we have our work cut out for us to make sure that every eligible American is registered to vote. Leagues across the country are working to register thousands of new voters at community colleges, bus stops, baseball games and naturalization ceremonies, and over 200 Leagues are participating in National Voter Registration Day later this month, but we’re not stopping there – we’re also working to get new voters registered with our online voter registration tool on VOTE411.org. Registration deadlines begin soon in many states, and time is running out.
We need your help to reach as many eligible voters as possible and let them know that on November 6th, we all have an equal say about our country’s future. Join our registration challenge by sending our e-card to *three* friends, family members or co-workers encouraging them to register to vote or update their registration by visiting VOTE411.org.
Voting brings us together as Americans – it is the one time when we are all equal. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, young or old, liberal or conservative; Election Day is your opportunity to support each other and your community by having a say in the democratic process.
In order for our voices to be heard and our opinions counted, eligible voters must be registered to cast a ballot. Send our e-card to three people you think may not be registered – perhaps they weren’t 18 for the last election, perhaps they’ve moved, or perhaps they’ve never engaged in the political process before.
By asking them to get registered and reminding them that together our votes can influence not only who wins the elections in November but the policies and issues that are addressed in the coming years, together, we can make a real difference.
The outcome of the elections and our country is in your hands. Help us get new voters registered and remember to remind them to head to the polls on November 6!
