President Obama delivered the 2013 State of the Union (SOTU) address on Tuesday, February 12th. The League created an official LWV Bingo game to engage viewers and track how the President’s speech matched up with our key priorities, particularly money in politics, election reform, climate change, gun safety, and immigration. Then we live-tweeted the action!

In last night’s State of the Union (SOTU) address, President Obama addressed many crucial issues affecting our country. His remarks touched on some of the League’s priority issues including voting rights, climate change, immigration and gun violence.
On Wednesday, February 27th, the Supreme Court will review Shelby County, Alabama v. Holder, a case that questions the constitutionality of Section 5 the Voting Rights Act (VRA) of 1965, the landmark legislation that outlawed discriminatory voting practices.
