Linda Wassenich is a member of the Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) and the Board of Trustees of the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF). She was elected in June 2012.

A member of LWV since 1970, Ms. Wassenich has served on the boards of LWV-Dallas and LWV-TX in a number of different positions for 23 of her 42 years of membership. On the LWV-TX board during 1999-2012, she was VP-Public Relations; chair of the Development and Marketing Committee, the Long Range Plan Committee, and the Policies, Bylaws, and Rules Committee; and a member of the Budget Committee. On the LWV-Dallas board, she chaired the study of Dallas County government and was director of Public Relations and VP-Organization during the 1970s. She returned to the board as president during 1995-99.

Ms. Wassenich holds a B.A. with University Honors from Texas Christian University and an MSW from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her career focused on public policy in health care and fundraising, primarily for the Visiting Nurse Association. She retired in 1999.

As a board member of the Community Council of Greater Dallas, Ms. Wassenich chairs the Advisory Council of the Dallas Area Agency on Aging and the Development Committee. She was president of the Women’s Council of Dallas County and a participant in Leadership Dallas.

Ms. Wassenich was recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Dallas Chapter, as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive and by the National Association of Social Workers, Dallas, with the Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Award. She received the AAUW Laurel Award and the Women of Spirit award from the American Jewish Congress, Southwest Division.

She and her husband, Mark, have two adult sons.
