Washington, DC - Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released long-awaited air quality standards for fine particles that come from power plants, oil refineries, boilers and diesel trucks and buses. The new rule is set at a level to protect against asthma attacks, heart disease, lung disease and premature death.
People are dying because of climate change. Hurricane Sandy is just one of the killer storms made more severe and more frequent by a warming planet. Deadly heat waves, droughts and floods are also on their way. At the end of last week, refreshed from a few short days at home in Georgia, I hit the road again this time on a two state swing starting in Colorado and wrapping up in Missouri.
