The League was pleased to join dozens of voting rights advocates, state and local elections officials, congressional staff and academics at last week’s 2015 Voting and Elections Summit in Washington D.C. The annual event brings together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the latest innovations and ongoing challenges in election administration and voting systems.
Last night, President Obama delivered his annual State of the Union (SOTU) address. For the third year in a row, the League brought you #LWV #SOTU Bingo to up the stakes! Across the country, League supporters played along, using our Bingo boards to track how the President’s speech matched up with the League’s key priorities, including voting rights, climate change and money in politics.
To say we’ve been busy this past year would be an understatement. The League’s mission – Making Democracy Work ® – means that we advocate for a democracy in which everyone has their say and every vote is counted.
The leaders you elect make decisions that affect you – your job, health care, energy costs, security and more. League resources, such as www.VOTE411.org and state and local voters’ guides and debates, help you to get registered, get to know the candidates and issues, learn about the rules in your state and get out and vote.
