A record number of advocates joined forces in Richmond yesterday to attend the League of Women Voters of Virginia’s annual kick-off to the 2014 legislative session. Coming together for a full day of discussions inside the state capitol, dozens of diverse leaders representing the League’s organizational partners stepped up to the podium to lay out their priorities for coming year.
This week LWVUS, the League of Women Voters of Arizona and the League of Women Voters of Kansas jointly sought to intervene in the case Kobach v. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), which involves the requirements to provide documentary proof-of-citizenship on the national mail-in voter registration application form.
Nationwide, more than 5,500 races and ballot initiatives will be decided this election season. These races are about jobs, economic security, the environment, health care and more. We all need to weigh in.
