Online voter registration is taking hold across the country. Election officials recognize that online registration cuts costs, increases the accuracy of voter rolls and eases their administrative burdens. Voters like the ease and convenience of registering or updating their information online, while advocates appreciate the boost in voter registration numbers.
To say we’ve been busy this past year would be an understatement. The League’s mission – Making Democracy Work ® – means that we advocate for a democracy in which everyone has their say and every vote is counted.
If you voted this year or helped others in your community cast their votes, thank you! While a few races remain up in the air and final tallies are being counted, many new federal, state and local leaders are preparing for their positions and taking into account your vote and the issues you and millions of Americans weighed in on. Now, we must hold our elected officials accountable by continuing to be in regular contact with them on the issues we care about.
The League is one of the nation’s largest and most longstanding community based voter registration groups. League volunteers help hundreds of thousands register or update their registration each election year, focusing on reaching underrepresented groups such as young voters, minorities and first-time voters
