This morning, the Presidential Commission on Election Administration (PCEA) will present their report to a Senate Rules and Administration Committee hearing. The League submitted testimony to PCEA that urged consideration of a five-point reform agenda as part of its recommendations.
The League of Women Voters’ fourth consecutive Youth Voter Registration Program kicked off this week in nearly 40 communities nationwide. Over the next several months, local League volunteer teams in 15 states will visit local high schools, community colleges and technical/vocational schools in order to help young people get registered and ready to vote in 2014.
The High School Voter Registration Project is a nationwide effort to encourage young people - especially young minorities - to register to vote. It's a groundbreaking research experiment to measure the effectiveness of voter registration strategies in schools.
