The League of Women Voters of Oklahoma recently helped secure a big victory for voters in their state by reaching an agreement with the State Election Board and state agencies ensuring compliance with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.
Two months into the 2015 State Legislative sessions and we have seen a groundswell of assaults on voters in many states. League of Women Voters activists have been working around the clock to fight back against these threats as well as to advance opportunities for voters.
This summer, the Membership and Leadership Development (MLD) program is providing training to local and state League leaders from nine states that are entering the program for the first time ever. After a wonderful financial out-pouring of support for the MLD program at the LWVUS Convention in June 2012, Cheryl, Carol, Kelly, and I (the League trainers for the MLD program) have been met with enthusiasm for the program and for the future of the League.
