Alice Giles is a resident of Laurel, Maryland and has been a League member since she was in college.

Alice is the Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Howard County and has served as a member of the Executive Board since 2009. One of her priorities as Co-President has been developing a shared database for nonpartisan nonprofits to collect information on local meetings and developments within the community. Alice is also a member of the LWVUS Young People Task Force.

Alice received bachelors degrees in English and History from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She currently works both as an editor for Howard County public schools, revising curriculum handbooks and resource sheets, and as an Instructor and Research Specialist for the Howard County Library System. She has worked with various local organizations that address women’s issues and homelessness, including the Women’s Giving Circle and the Domestic Violence Center.
