The League joined more than 1,500 groups on a letter that calls on Congress to pass a budget that adequately meets the needs of all people and communities.

The League joined the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights on a letter to President Trump expressing concern that the civil and human rights of all Americans are being drastically undermined by the administration’s proposed deep cuts to key civil rights office budgets, the withdrawal of numerous important civil and human rights policies, and the appointment of officials who appear bent on retreating from statutory civil and human rights agency priorities.

The League joined constitutional rights and public interest groups in opposing calls for an Article V Constitutional Convention.

LWVUS and LWV Lake Michigan joined a letter sent to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Appropriations in support of funding for Great Lakes restoration priorities. 

LWVUS joined LWVMD and 40 other national and local organizations supporting rescission of a resolution that calls for an Article V Constitutional Convention.

The League sent a memo to the U.S. Senate about the most recent nominee to the Supreme Court.

The League joined a letter to Capitol Hill urging Congress to table Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions of disapproval, which would harm American workers, consumers, and families.

The League joined a letter with other coalition partners in opposition of riders to HR 5485, the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act. The riders would ensure that big money and special interests continue to dominate the political system.


VOTE FOR AMENDMENTS TO STRIKE UNDERMINING CAMPAIGN FINANCE RIDERS

The League joined a letter to the U.S. House urging Representatives to vote against an amendment that would reduce the budget of the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE).

LWVUS joined a letter with organizations from across the country urging congress to reject amendments to the FY 2016 budget that would undermine the EPA's Clean Water Rule.
