The League joined with over one hundred other organizations urging Congressional appropriators to protect mandatory funding for farm bill conservation programs, support robust discretionary funding for Conservation Technical Assistance, and reject any attempt to undermine highly erodible land and wetland conservation compliance.

The League sent a letter to President Obama urging him to veto the FY 2016 Appropriations bill should it arrive on his desk with damaging campaign finance riders.

The League opposes the legislation because it contains destructive campaign finance provisions that would increase limits on individual contributions to a political party.

The League joined over 100 organizations on a letter to the conferees of the Farm Bill in Congress. The letter asks the conferees to oppose cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in any Farm Bill Conference and underscores the fundamental importance of the SNAP program.



The League joined with other organizations in a letter to Congress urging them to keep the following principles in mind as they work on the end of year budget agreement.  The letter emphasizes that any budget agreement must: end sequestration cuts, protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security from benefit cuts and defend core programs for those most at risk.


The League sent a letter to members of the U.S. Congress regarding the current negotiations around the "Fiscal Cliff." The League urges Congress to provide a long-term solution by substantially increasing revenue, protecting the social safety net, reducing defense spending and carefully managing the deficit.

The League signed on to a letter expressing strong opposition to the Fiscal Year 2013 budget proposal offered by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).
