It has been quite a week and it is only Wednesday! Sunday, members of the League of Women Voters of the City of New York were joined by League members from as far away as Oregon in a colorful and enthusiastic march on climate change. Proudly carrying the League banner, members rallied support for addressing this critical issue.
Today is National Voter Registration Day, a nationwide effort to register hundreds of thousands of voters on one single day. In 2012 and 2013, National Voter Registration Day partners helped 350,000 voters register to vote on this day of nationwide action!

Forty-three years ago today on July 1, 1971, Congress ratified the 26th Amendment to the Constitution. The legislation was a victory for our democracy. In lowering the federal voting age from 21 to 18, the 26th amendment drastically expanded our electorate and increased access to the ballot box.
