Claire Avalos is an intern for the League of Women Voters US Communications team. She works closely with the team to assist with outreach, marketing, and other communications projects.

Since August 2023, Claire has been studying full-time at George Washington University and is now a rising second-year student studying Political Science. Claire has a long history of civic engagement and advocacy for her community. During her time at GW, Claire has been involved in numerous student organizations to act as a voice for her peers, including serving on the executive board of the school’s Organization of Latin American Students and representing the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences on GW’s Student Government Association as a senator.

In the past year, Claire has been involved in various community outreach projects, ranging from launching a clothing drive to donate to a local women’s shelter to canvassing for Virginia state legislature candidates to increase voter turnout.

Claire was born and raised in Surprise, Arizona. After graduating from The George Washington University, she plans to attend law school.
