League joins comments regarding consolidation in healthcare markets

The League joined a coalition of organizations in commenting on a request for information from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding the consolidation of health care markets. LWVUS joined these comments because it is concerned that a move to private equity threatens affordability and access to healthcare.

LWVUS Urges the US Department of Health and Human Services to Allow DACA Recipients to Enroll in Health Insurance Programs

The League signed onto a letter to Secretary Becerra of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), urging HHS to allow recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to enroll in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Medicaid.
