Kayla Vix

Kayla Vix is the Director of Field Communications for the League of Women Voters. She works closely with staff and state leaders to build and implement the League’s field messaging. In addition to managing the day-to-day internal communications, Kayla works to develop a variety of communications materials to support the hundreds of state and local chapters of the organization.


 

Parties in LWV New Jersey v. Way drafted reached an agreement establishing a notice and cure process for vote-by-mail ballots in New Jersey.

Parties in League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund, et al. v. Simon reached an agreement to suspend the state’s witness requirement for absentee ballots.

Vivian chose to join LWV of Minnesota Education Fund v. Simon because she hopes that, by telling her story, she can make progress in dismantling subtle systems of voter suppression.

 A federal judge ruled that North Dakota’s process for absentee ballot verification will include a notification and remedy method for voters whose ballots are flagged for rejection due to signature mismatch.

A federal judge granted a motion to intervene to the League of Women Voters of Michigan and Detroit in a case which seeks to force the City of Detroit to conduct an aggressive purge of their voter registration rolls.

The League of Women Voters of Kentucky filed a federal lawsuit asking the court to invalidate the state’s recently-passed picture ID requirement for voting.

The League of Women Voters of North Carolina filed a federal lawsuit challenging several of the state’s registration and voting requirements.

The League of Women Voters of Louisiana filed a federal lawsuit challenging Louisiana’s emergency election plan, which does not provide voters adequate protection during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund filed a federal lawsuit challenging the state’s witness requirement for absentee ballot signatures.

The League of Women Voters of New Jersey filed a lawsuit asking for relief for voters from the state’s flawed ballot signature match requirements.
