Stefanie Gadalean (she/her) serves as a summer southeast organizing intern for the League of Women Voters. Stefanie has been involved with her local League of Alachua County, Florida, since Spring 2023. In the Fall of 2023, Stefanie spearheaded the initiative to bring the League to her college campus at the University of Florida, where she serves as founder and president. Stefanie feels she brings a unique perspective to her work with the League because of her immigrant background. She is a first-generation American with South African and Romanian heritage and believes that defending democracy is central to preserving the American Dream.
Aside from Stefanie’s work with the League, she is a rising senior at the University of Florida studying Medical Geography in Global Health, Public Health, and Women's Studies. After her undergraduate degree, Stefanie plans to attend law school and pursue a career in Public Interest and Social Justice Law.
In her free time, Stefanie can be found reading off her balcony with her tabby cat, Sammy, or taking a day trip to explore a new city in Florida.
