Women's Reproductive Health

The League of Women Voters is dedicated to ensuring equal rights and equal opportunity for all. This commitment led to LWVUS joining the legal challenge to Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act which prohibits transgender women and girls, intersex persons, and any non-binary person from participating in sports.

LWVUS joined 189 organizations addressing Congressional leadership and standing in solidarity with Black Women’s Reproductive Justice advocates to protect the bodily autonomy and reproductive rights of all people.

We commend the Court on today’s ruling and celebrate that Louisiana will retain the three existing clinics in the state that provide abortion care.

This week the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that challenges a Louisiana law designed to undermine access to abortion.

With 136 organizations, we wrote to Congressional leadership to ask that provisions that promote health care access for millions of people in the U.S. and globally be included in the final budget.

The League sent a memo to members of the U.S. Senate regarding essential elements that need to be provided for any forthcoming legislation on healthcare.

The League joined women's groups on a letter opposing the repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and defunding Planned Parenthood.

The League joined with 61 other health care and reproductive rights organizations in support of $327 million in funding for the Title X Family Planning program in a letter to House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Chairs and Ranking Minority members.
