"For many years, the ultimate source of election information in our area has been the League of Women Voters and its comprehensive voter guides. While not abandoning its printed guide...the League this year is putting its resources into making its election information available online, through a website called Vote411.org. If you’re that conscientious voter, we suggest you take a look.

"The Supreme Court on Tuesday cleared the way for voters in the battleground state of Ohio to cast ballots on the three days before Election Day, giving Democrats and President Barack Obama’s campaign a victory three weeks before the election. ... The court refused a request by the state’s Republican elections chief and attorney general to get involved in a battle over early voting.

"'What the league is trying to do is make sure everyone is educated about what early voting is, every vote is actually cast and everyone who is registered to vote is allowed to vote,' said Elizabeth Poythress, state president of the league. 'The main thing is to vote.'"
