As Women’s Equality Day approaches, we reflect on the brave suffragists who helped secure the passage of the

Earlier this month, we attended a panel on the Democracy Restoration Act, a bill that would allow those released from prison to regain their right to vote in federal elections.

Like the Florida League, Leagues across the country are seeking solutions to the issue of redistricting and gerrymandered Congressional districts.

“This decision gives us a new tool to fight partisan gerrymandering,” said President MacNamara.

The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts is disappointed with the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in McCullen v. Coakley that the Massachusetts buffer zone law, as written, is unconstitutional.

“The public is strongly in favor of reducing the deadly effects that carbon pollution has on the health of our children and our environment,” said League President MacNamara.
